  •  Survey and inspection of vessels.

  • Maritime technology, destructive and non-destructive analysis, vibration analysis, sensors, water testing, oceanography, Marine and coastal environments.

  • Private institution (UTP, Ranaco, ALAM) or civil institution (PuO, UMT, UTM, UPNM, UITM, USM)

 

Admission Requirements:

Recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Engineering Technology or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 AND

For International students, TOEFL score of 500 OR IELTS score of 5.0 OR its equivalent. If a student does not meet this requirement, HEPs must offer English proficiency courses to ensure

that the student’s proficiency is sufficient to meet the needs of the programme. This is normally conducted through an assessment process.

Note:

Degree holders of Bachelor’s of Science or Technology (non-engineering or engineering technology) with CGPA above 2.0 but less than 2.5 may be admitted, subject to a rigorous internal assessment process.

 

Aim of Programme: 

This postgraduate programme is designed to equip students with the knowledge in maritime management and marine technology at intermediate level. It offers courses that can be grouped into 3 areas namely maritime operations, intermediate business management as well as marine science and technology to fulfil the needs of the workforce currently employed and aspiring to join the maritime industry.

 

Programme Learning Outcome (PLO): 

At the end of the Master of Maritime Operations and Management (MMOM) programme, graduates will be able to:

PLO 1

  • Demonstrate continuing and advanced knowledge and have the capabilities to further develop or use these in maritime industry.

PLO 2

  • Analyse and evaluate problems relating to the maritime industry critically particularly in situations with limited information and to provide solutions through the application of appropriate tools and techniques.

PLO 3

  • Appraise available information and research evidence and apply it in the maritime engineering technology context.

PLO 4

  • Plan and perform research undertakings professionally, ethically and responsibly fulfilling the needs of maritime industry.

PLO 5

  • Report technical findings relevant to the maritime industry in both written and oral forms.

PLO 6

  • Recognise the needs for continuing professional development appropriate to the maritime industry.

PLO 7

  • Exhibit awareness and understanding of business practices and technopreneurial competencies.
