Admission Requirements:

  • Pass in SPM or its equivalent with at least pass in English and credits (minimum Grade C and higher) in five (5) subjects; Bahasa Melayu, Mathematics, Science / Pure Science / Technical and two (2) other subjects; OR
  • Pass in O-Level with minimum Grade C in three (3) subjects including Mathematics and Science or Technical Based Subjects.

The graduates of D.E.T in Marine Engineering, two to five years into their careers:

Programme Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

Upon graduation, the students of Diploma of Engineering Technology in Marine Engineering will be able to:

    • PLO 1:  Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to wide practical procedures and practices in marine engineering. (DK1 TO DK4, DP1 TO DP7)
    • PLO 2: Identify and solve the problems related to marine engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using codified methods of
      analysis specific to their field of activity. (DK1 TO DK4, DP1 TO DP7)
    • PLO 3: Design solutions for well-defined marine engineering problems and assist with the design of system, components or processes to meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural,
      societal, and environmental considerations. (DK5, DP1 TO DP7)
    • PLO 4: Conduct investigations of well-defined marine engineering problems: locate
      and search relevant codes and catalogues, conduct standard tests and measurements. (DP1 TO DP7)
    • PLO 5:Apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering tools to well-defined marine engineering activities, with an awareness of the limitations. (DK6, DP1 TO DP7)
    • PLO 6: Demonstrate knowledge of the societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to engineering technical practice and solutions to well- defined marine engineering problems (DK7,

    • PLO 7: Understand and evaluate the sustainability and impact of engineering technician work in the solution of well-defined marine engineering problems
