Admission Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6 / MQF) or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 in related field, as endorsed by the Senate of UniKL; OR A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6 / MQF) or equivalent with CGPA not meeting 2.50, can be accepted but with 5 years working experience in related sector and as endorsed by the Senate of UniKL; OR Professional qualifications recognized by the Public Service Department as as equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree (Level 6 / MQF); OR For postgraduate studies, international students are required to achieve a minimum score of 6.0 for IELTS or its equivalent. OR Other qualifications recognized by the Government of Malaysia.

Aim of Programme: 

This postgraduate programme is designed to equip students with the knowledge in maritime management and marine technology at intermediate level. It offers courses that can be grouped into 3 areas namely maritime operations, intermediate business management as well as marine science and technology to fulfil the needs of the workforce currently employed and aspiring to join the maritime industry.

Programme Learning Outcome (PLO): 

At the end of the Master of Maritime Operations and Management (MMOM) programme, graduates will be able to:
  • PLO 1 :Evaluate theories and concepts in business and in the field of maritime operations.
  • PLO 2 :Resolve complex problems by providing recommendations to business organisations and multi-disciplinary context involving maritime operations.
  • PLO 3 :Organise complex tasks/operations ethically and flexibly within business organisations.
  • PLO 4 :Demonstrate effective and cogent written and oral communication and collaborative skills with diverse stakeholders.
  • PLO 5 :Demonstrate relevant digital skills for research/work/study.
  • PLO 6 :Interpret numerical, qualitative and graphical data to support decision-making and problem-solving in work/study
