Scheduled Waste Management

Scheduled waste refers to any waste that falls within the categories of waste listed in the First Schedule as stated in the Environmental Quality (Scheduled Wastes) Regulations 2005​.

Improper management of toxic and hazardous waste will lead to serious pollution of the environment and long-term impact to human health.

Scheduled waste from laboratory and workshop required a proper handling, storing, labelling and disposal.

Scheduled Waste Category

Scheduled waste can be divided into five classes with 77 SW codes according to the First Schedule under Regulation 2

SW1 Metal & Metal-bearing Wastes

SW2 Wastes Containing Principally Inorganic Constituents

SW3 Wastes Containing Principally Organic Constituents

SW4 Wastes Containing Either Organic or Inorganic Constituents

SW5 Other Wastes
