Student housing & college residence life at UniKL MIMET strives to ensure that a living and learning environment is the foundation of its residence culture.
There are three blocks of residence for our students which can accommodate 1000 residents i.e. Armada 1 for girls and Armada 2 and 3 for boys.
Every effort is made to ensure that students’ residence life experience will foster their holistic development as well as being fully supportive of their academic program.
Residence life is a special experience. Staying in a UniKL MIMET residence is an extension of students’ university education, where they can benefit from all the facilities and services such as student learning centers, social and sporting activities, life-skills and peer-tutoring programs.
A residence is a community in which one meets a range of diverse students and forges life-long friendships.
SPORTS & RECREATIONS
The University has an extensive sporting facility. These facilities include a gym, sports hall, football pitch, rugby pitch, tennis courts, and sepak takraw courts, volleyball court, basketball court, and netball court.
UniKL MIMET students should feel fortunate to have a campus that offers so many opportunities for relaxation in the midst of lush greenery, shady tree-lined avenues, lake and beachfront. Nothing could be more therapeutic than curling up on a bench under a willowy tree, a book in hand or the day’s newspaper – to be pleasantly distracted now and then by a squirrel that scampers by and up a tree.
The entire campus community can carry out leisure and recreational activities enthusiastically without interference, without pollution.
The university has provided modern facilities for the benefit of its students which would be difficult to resist for those keen to start a healthy lifestyle.
UniKL MIMET is also rich in recreational locations that take us away from the stress and demands of work and study as it near the sea. It offers leisure and recreational facilities for students to carry out activities including fishing, boating, sport, camping, fairs and carnivals.
Dragonboat Club of UniKL MIMET is established to offer students the recreational platform to participate in world-class dragonboating competitions.
UniKL MIMET is also equipped with a wide range of facilities including Islamic Centre. Our Islamic Centre is called PUSAT ISLAM ASSOLIHIN. Many activities are held here throughout the whole year. Among the activities are cooking of Bubur Lambuk , porridge cook with herbs where students are involved in sending the porridge to the poor around Lumut and Manjung area.
We also offer a programme called Ulul Albab. It is a platform to provide an integrated and balanced system of learning that caters for the spiritual, moral, intellectual and ethical values of Islam. The ultimate goal is to produce the holistic Engineer & Technologist Huffaz / Muslim professional / entrepreneurs. 2 programs offered as an added value for UniKL Students : Sijil Tahfiz Malaysia & Pensijilan Tahfiz Al Quran.
RAMADHAN IFTHAR PROGRAM
The month of Ramadan, filled with bliss and abundant blessings presents us with an opportunity to maximize our good deeds. One of such acts which all Muslims are encouraged to perform in excess is kindness and charity. As such, UniKL MIMET in collaboration with Persatuan Mahasiswa Islam MIMET (PMIM) have organized an Ifthar Program to all students at Pusat Islam Solehin, UniKL MIMET throughout the month of Ramadhan.
Zaid ibn Khalid Johni related that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “He who provides for the breaking of the Siyam of another person earns the same merit as the one who was observing Siyam without diminishing in any way the reward of the latter.” (Tirmidhi)
